Football Game Preview: Godwin Heights Wolverines vs. Fruitport Trojans

The Godwin Heights Wolverines will head out to take on the Fruitport Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Godwin Heights will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

Godwin Heights had to skate by with only a two-point margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 30-point drubbing they dealt Holland on Friday. The Wolverines simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Dutch 49-19. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Wolverines considering their two-point performance the matchup before.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 35 points the game before, Fruitport was a bit more limited in their game on Friday. They had to suffer through a 36-7 loss at the hands of Belding. The contest marked the Trojans' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Fruitport's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 3-3. As for Godwin Heights, their win bumped their record up to 5-1.

Godwin Heights came up short against Fruitport in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, falling 26-14. Can the Wolverines avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
