Basketball Recap: Briana Croisant's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Otis-Bison over Ellinwood

Otis-Bison lost against Ellinwood back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Otis-Bison Cougars took a 41-28 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Ellinwood Eagles. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 295th, while the Eagles are ranked 98th).

Several Cougars players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Briana Croisant, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Allie Smith, who posted two points and 12 boards.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Ellinwood to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brynn Widener, who had six points in addition to six rebounds and five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Alyvia Batchman, who scored 17 points and six boards.

This is the second loss in a row for Otis-Bison and nudges their season record down to 3-6. As for Ellinwood, they pushed their record up to 9-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Otis-Bison didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 47-21 loss against LaCrosse on the 23rd. Ellinwood has also already played their next matchup, a 40-36 win against Pratt on the 24th.
