Soccer Recap: Elyria Victorious

Elyria was not the first on the board on Saturday, but they got there more often. They came out on top against the Lutheran West Longhorns by a score of 3-1. That's more bragging rights for Elyria, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Elaina Martinez and Ehlaia Simmons scored all three of Elyria's goals, bringing their combined season tally to eight goals.

Elyria has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored ten goals over those two matches. As for Lutheran West, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 1-1-1.

Looking ahead, Elyria will welcome Olmsted Falls at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Lutheran West, they will head out on the road to face off against Cuyahoga Heights at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
