Softball Recap: Millennium Extends Home Winning Streak to Five

Millennium is still undefeated this season after their contest against River Islands on Thursday, but River Islands came as close as anyone has to beating them. The Falcons came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 6-5 W against the Riptide. Those six runs were actually the fewest the Falcons have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

Nora Coutts was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Lanie Gonzalez, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2.

Millennium's victory was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-0. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 11.8 runs this season. As for River Islands, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Millennium is set to challenge their familiar foe Ben Holt College Prep Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, River Islands will square off against rival Venture Academy at 4:15 p.m. on Friday.
