Volleyball Recap: Urbana University Comes Up Short

Urbana University was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 30th straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Macomb Bombers.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Macomb to victory, but perhaps none more so than Emily Westerhold, who had six digs and six aces. Those six aces gave Westerhold a new career-high. Sophie Wilson was another key player, getting 15 assists.

Urbana University's loss dropped their record down to 0-15. As for Macomb, the victory snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 7-7 record.

Urbana University wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 2-0 defeat against Arthur-Okaw Christian on the 15th. As for Macomb, they have also already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Farmington on the 16th.
