After flying high against Lincoln last Wednesday, Elizabeth came back down to earth. The Cardinals took a 14-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Ponderosa Mustangs on Monday. The Cardinals' defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Lacy Antinora threw for 58 yards and one TD. Olivia King was her top target, picking up 27 receiving yards. On the ground, Madison Martin rushed for 39 yards.

Elizabeth's loss dropped their record down to 9-3. As for Ponderosa, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-8.

Looking ahead, Elizabeth will host Coronado at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Ponderosa, they will welcome Highlands Ranch at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Mustangs will be up against the Falcons' rather soft defense (which has allowed 35.36 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
