Baseball Recap: Polytechnic Wins Going Away Against Hoover

Polytechnic barely beat Hoover the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Panthers blew past the Tornados 13-5 on Wednesday. The victory continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Tornados: they've now won three in a row.

Caiden Kennedy and Mark Hiddleson did most of the damage at the plate: Kennedy went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI, while Hiddleson went 3-for-4 with five RBI and two doubles. Those three hits gave Hiddleson a new career-high. Alex Chui was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three runs.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Polytechnic kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive games.

Polytechnic's record now sits at 11-14. As for Hoover, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 9-17-1.

As of now, neither Polytechnic nor the Tornados have any future games scheduled.
