Baseball Game Preview: Sparkman Senators vs. Huntsville Panthers

The Sparkman Senators will square off against the Huntsville Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The timing isn't great for Sparkman: they have been struggling with three straight losses at home, while Huntsville has snatched up three consecutive wins on the road.

On Monday, Sparkman didn't have quite enough to beat James Clemens and fell 2-1.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Huntsville took on Westminster Christian Academy on Friday. The Panthers blew past the Wildcats 10-3. That's two games straight that the Panthers have won by exactly seven runs.

The team relied heavily on Josh Knight, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Scott, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Huntsville's win bumped their record up to 14-15. As for Sparkman, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-18.

Sparkman was able to grind out a solid victory over Huntsville in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, winning 5-1. Will the Senators repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
