Basketball Game Preview: Edgewood Mustangs vs. Eastern Greene Thunderbirds

Edgewood is on a three-game streak of home losses, Eastern Greene a seven-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck will change on Tuesday. The Edgewood Mustangs will host the Eastern Greene Thunderbirds at 7:30 p.m. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Edgewood is likely headed into the match with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Owen Valley on Friday. Edgewood fell to Owen Valley 40-34. While the Mustangs didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Patriots 14-6 in the first quarter.

Edgewood's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Macey Crider, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 14 boards, and Addison Yearby, who posted nine points. The dominant performance also gave Yearby a new career-high in assists (three).

Meanwhile, Eastern Greene came up short against Mitchell on Thursday and fell 35-22.

Eastern Greene's defeat dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Edgewood, their loss dropped their record down to 10-7.
