Preview: Covert Bulldogs vs. Michigan Lutheran Titans
Covert is 0-10 against Michigan Lutheran since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Covert Bulldogs will be playing in front of their home fans against the Michigan Lutheran Titans at 6:00 p.m.
Last Tuesday, Covert suffered a rough 64-41 defeat at the hands of Howardsville Christian. Covert has struggled against Howardsville Christian recently, as their game on Tuesday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, Michigan Lutheran can now show off nine landslide victories after their most recent contest on Tuesday. They blew past River Valley, posting a 82-30 win on the road. Michigan Lutheran's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Michigan Lutheran found their leader in underclassman Connor Olson, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was Micah Herbst, who scored 12 points.
Covert has traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season. As for Michigan Lutheran, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 12-4.
Covert was dealt a bruising 69-28 defeat at the hands of Michigan Lutheran when the teams last played back in December of 2023. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Michigan Lutheran's Henry Stanage, who scored 20 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
