Basketball Recap: Tniah Dunlap's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Jefferson County over Franklin County

Jefferson County and Franklin County squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Jefferson County had to settle for second. They fell 30-23 to the Franklin County Seahawks. The Tigers have struggled against the Seahawks recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Jefferson County lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Tniah Dunlap, who posted three points along with 17 boards and four steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last seven games she's played. Hope Steen was another key player, putting up seven points and three steals.

Franklin County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Gregreyauna Griffin led the charge by earning ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayla Creamer, who had eight points.

Jefferson County's loss dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Franklin County, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-6.

Jefferson County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Franklin County, they have already played their next match, a 44-39 win against Port St. Joe on the 8th.
