Rolling Meadows had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 12-run drubbing they dealt Larkin on Thursday. Rolling Meadows' pitchers stepped up to hand Larkin a 12-0 shutout. This was payback for the Mustangs, who suffered a 12-10 loss the last time these two teams met.

Rolling Meadows let Callum Paisley and Ryan Schneider run wild. Paisley went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs, while Schneider went a perfect 3-for-3 with two triples, four RBI, and two runs. Those two triples gave Schneider a new career-high. Tony Romanacce was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with three runs and one triple.

Rolling Meadows always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .519. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Larkin only posted an OBP of .211.

Rolling Meadows' victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Larkin, they dropped their record down to 0-2 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Rolling Meadows has already played their next game, a 7-1 win against Elmwood Park on the 21st. As for Larkin, they will head out to square off against Marmion at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
