Softball Game Preview: Eastside Eagles vs. James F. Byrnes Rebels

The Eastside Eagles will venture away from home to take on the James F. Byrnes Rebels at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Eastside has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the matchup with 12 straight losses, while James F. Byrnes will come in with 11 straight wins.

Eastside came up short against Riverside on Thursday, falling 19-4.

Emma Moyse was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Georgia Carnes also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.

Meanwhile, James F. Byrnes faced Belton-Honea Path in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Rebels blew past the Bears 10-2. The result was nothing new for the Rebels, who have now won 12 games by seven runs or more so far this season.

James F. Byrnes' victory was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-2. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games. As for Eastside, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-15-1.
