Baseball Recap: Musselman Takes a Loss

Musselman lost against Millbrook back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Applemen fell just short of the Pioneers by a score of 8-7. The Applemen have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Ryder Ganse and Taryn Boyles did some serious damage despite the final result: Ganse scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-5, while Boyles scored a run while going 3-for-4. Ganse also put up a triple, which was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Izaac Gilbert, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

Musselman's loss dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Millbrook, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a massive bump to their 5-4 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Musselman will face off against James Wood at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Colonels will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Applemen surely won't give up without a fight. As for Millbrook, they will take on Sherando at 7:00 p.m. on the 25th.
