Baseball Game Preview: Sequoia Ravens vs. King's Academy Knights

For the second straight game, Sequoia will face off against King's Academy. The Ravens will head out to face off against the Knights at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Sequoia's pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so King's Academy's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Sequoia proved they can win big last Wednesday (they won by 13) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past King's Academy 10-9. The win was nothing new for the Ravens as they're now sitting on three straight.

Morgan Winfield was a major factor no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

In other batting news, Drew Ostrander was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (three).

This is the second loss in a row for King's Academy and nudges their season record down to 5-4. Even worse, they were so close both times: the losses came by an average of only 1.5 runs. As for Sequoia, their victory bumped their record up to 8-5.
