Softball Recap: Castle Knights vs. Cascade Cadets
There's no place like home for Castle, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They won by a run and slipped past the Cascade Cadets 6-5.
Mati Hughes was incredible, scoring two runs while going 4-for-4. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024. Maddie Rose was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.
Castle was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They are 2-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Castle's victory bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Cascade, they now have a losing record of 1-2.
Coming up, Castle will challenge Hamilton Southeastern at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Royals' pitching crew has only allowed 2.2 runs per game this season, so the Knights' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Cascade, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 12-4 defeat against Zionsville on the 11th.
