Recap: Jeffersonville Red Devils vs. Evansville Reitz Panthers
The Jeffersonville Red Devils were the 71-49 winner over the Evansville Reitz Panthers when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Jeffersonville took a 40-33 hit to the loss column at the hands of Evansville Reitz on Saturday.
Jeffersonville's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lakyra Johnson, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Keziah Renee, who scored 13 points along with two steals.
Evansville Reitz got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Bailey Hape out in front who scored 15 points. Kaelyse Mitchell was another key contributor, scoring four points along with 12 rebounds and five blocks.
Jeffersonville's loss dropped their record down to 10-9. As for Evansville Reitz, their win bumped their record up to 12-4.
Jeffersonville will be playing at home against Seymour at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Evansville Reitz, they will head out on the road to face off against Jasper at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Jasper will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive.
