Basketball Game Preview: Marshwood Hawks vs. Windham Eagles

It'll be Battle of the Birds when the Marshwood Hawks face off against the Windham Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday... Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

While Marshwood didn't have the best season last year (they finished 8-10), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They took down Deering 55-41 on Saturday. Given the Hawks' advantage in MaxPreps' Maine basketball rankings (they are ranked tenth, while the Rams are ranked 97th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Tuesday Windham sidestepped South Portland for a 35-33 victory.

Marshwood pushed their record up to 8-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.5 points per game. As for Windham, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
