Recap: Western Christian Fighting Lancers vs. Victor Valley Jackrabbits
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only The Western Christian Fighting Lancers walked away with it. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Victor Valley 50-48. The win made it back-to-back wins for Western Christian.
Jared Doolittle was his usual excellent self, throwing for 368 yards and four touchdowns, while also rushing for 87 yards and two touchdowns on only six carries. Doolittle is on a roll when it comes to passing yards, as he's now passed for 300 or more in the last four games he's played. Another big playmaker for Western Christian was Darryl Booker, who returned a punt for a touchdown.
Several Jackrabbits players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Hezekiah Jenkins, who rushed for 217 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 9.4 yards per carry. The team also got some help courtesy of Robert Middlebrooks, who threw for 217 yards and four touchdowns while completing 76.9% of his passes.
Western Christian's victory bumped their record up to 7-4. As for Victor Valley, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-5 record this season.
Western Christian will be playing in front of their home fans against Cerritos at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Cerritos is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road. Victor Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
