Basketball Game Preview: Ash Grove Pirates vs. Stockton Tigers

The Ash Grove Pirates will face off against the Stockton Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Ash Grove will be strutting in after a victory while Stockton will be coming in after a loss.

If Ash Grove beats Stockton with 56 points on Friday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two contests with that exact score. Ash Grove beat Marionville on Tuesday by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 56-35. The Pirates haven't had any issues with the Comets recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Stockton took on Miller on Tuesday. Stockton fell 51-44 to Miller.

Ash Grove's victory bumped their record up to 13-10. As for Stockton, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 15-7.

Ash Grove didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Stockton in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, but they still walked away with a 54-49 win. Will Ash Grove repeat their success, or does Stockton have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
