Baseball Game Preview: North Central Knights vs. Buford Yellow Jackets

North Central is 0-10 against Buford since March of 2018 but things could change on Tuesday. North Central will look to defend their home field against Buford at 6:30 p.m. The contest will give North Central their first taste of in-conference action this season.

North Central is headed into Tuesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their tenth straight game dating back to last season last Friday. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-0 heartbreaker at the hands of Central. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Knights have suffered since April 30, 2024.

North Central saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Zachary Tucker, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base. That stolen base was Tucker's first of the season.

Meanwhile, Buford sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 win over Hannah-Pamplico on Saturday.

Noah Crump and Jake Milhorn dominated on the mound. Crump tossed five innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits, while Milhorn pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, Crump gave up only one walk, the fewest he's had since March 6th.

Buford's victory bumped their record up to 10-3. As for North Central, their loss dropped their record down to 0-9.

North Central might still be hurting after the 9-1 defeat they got from Buford in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. Can North Central avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
