Basketball Recap: Branham Comes Up Short

Branham was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat. They took a hard 65-49 fall against the Westmont Warriors. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bruins this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 84-50 back in January.

When it comes to explaining why Branham lost, don't look at Aiden - Joseph Vietvu. Despite the final result, he posted 15 points and three steals. Jimmy Scibetta was another key player, putting up six points.

Even though they lost, Branham was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive matchups.

Branham's loss dropped their record down to 5-15. As for Westmont, their record now sits at 15-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Branham will square off against Christopher at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Branham is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.2 points per game this season. As for Westmont, they will face off against Pioneer at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Westmont knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 11 contests -- so hopefully Pioneer likes a good challenge.
