Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Fredericksburg). They walked away with a 23-13 win over the Uvalde Coyotes/Lobos (for girls) on Friday. The score was all tied up 7-7 at the break, but the Billies were the (much) better team in the second half.

Aaron Cantu went supernova for Fredericksburg, rushing for 125 yards and a touchdown on only 11 carries. Cantu really tore up the turf during one magnificent 72-yard run. Brooks Immel was another key player, throwing for 170 yards and a touchdown.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Fredericksburg's defense and their five sacks. Uvalde's QB won't forget Tristan King anytime soon given he sacked him three times.

Fredericksburg's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Uvalde, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-3.

Fredericksburg has already played their next match, a 30-20 win against Canyon Lake on the 4th. As for Uvalde, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 35-15 loss against Somerset on the 4th.
