Baseball Game Preview: Neuqua Valley Wildcats vs. Waubonsie Valley Warriors

For the second straight game, Neuqua Valley will face off against Waubonsie Valley. The Wildcats will venture away from home to square off against the Warriors at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Neuqua Valley is coming into the contest hot, having won their last five games.

Neuqua Valley had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the six-run drubbing they dealt Waubonsie Valley on Monday. The Wildcats blew past the Warriors 10-4. With that victory, the Wildcats brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

Neuqua Valley got a great performance from Jack Martin as he pitched five innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits.

At the plate, Joe Barkley was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. He is becoming a predictor of Neuqua Valley's success: when he posts at least three RBI the team is undefeated (and 5-8-1 when he doesn't). Andy Barkley was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Neuqua Valley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are 3-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Waubonsie Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Neuqua Valley, the win got them back to even at 8-8-1.
