Basketball Recap: Faith Christian Patriots vs. Rocky Mount Academy Eagles
Faith Christian's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They came out on top against the Rocky Mount Academy Eagles by a score of 54-44. This was a revenge game for the Patriots: when they faced off against the Eagles back in December of 2024, they had to take a 61-53 defeat.
Faith Christian got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was NOAH MAYO out in front who posted 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of MATT PRIDGEN, who scored 14 points.
Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Hank Berry, who almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Thomas Honey, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 14 boards.
Faith Christian's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-12. As for Rocky Mount Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 8-7.
Faith Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Rocky Mount Academy, they will take on Harrells Christian Academy at 6:45 p.m. on Monday. Harrells Christian Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 18 matches -- so hopefully Rocky Mount Academy likes a good challenge.
