Basketball Recap: Rouse Snags 18th Victory in Last 22 Games

Rouse won the last time they faced Lockhart and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Rouse Raiders snuck past the Lockhart Lions with a 55-49 victory. Given the Raiders' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 203rd, while the Lions are ranked 684th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Rouse's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Isaac Montgomery led the charge by putting up 14 points. That's the most points Montgomery has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Luke Baldwin, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 12 rebounds.

Rouse is on a roll lately: they've won 18 of their last 22 games, which provided a nice bump to their 22-10 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.8 points per game. As for Lockhart, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 12 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 17-16 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rouse has already played their next contest (against Glenn), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Lockhart has also has no score uploaded for their next game, this one against Lehman.
