Basketball Game Preview: George Washington Patriots vs. Denver South Ravens

The George Washington Patriots and the Denver South Ravens will face off at 5:30 p.m. on Friday without much rest, having both just played. The timing is sure in George Washington's favor as the team sits on six straight wins at home while Denver South has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road.

George Washington picked up another tournament win on Thursday. They put the hurt on Kennedy with a sharp 54-31 win. The Patriots have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matches by 21 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Denver South against Manual on Thursday as the squad secured a 60-23 victory.

Denver South found their leader in freshman Abriella Garcia, who went 6-for-9 en route to 15 points and four steals. Those 15 points gave Garcia a new career-high. Cecelia Sheperd was another key player, putting up 11 points.

George Washington has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 games. That's provided a massive bump to their 15-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.9 points over those games. Denver South's win bumped their record up to 10-12.
