Softball Recap: Ravenwood Comes Up Short

Ravenwood fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Summit on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Summit Spartans by a score of 3-2. The Raptors just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.

Campbell Raphael spent all 7.1 innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on five hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Ravenwood saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Addisonl Maxwell, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one triple and one RBI. Hannah Hill also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.

Ravenwood's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Summit, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-4 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ravenwood will venture away from home to square off against Nolensville at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Summit, they will head out to face off against Page at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
