Basketball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Wright City

Wright City lost to Smithville back in January of 2025, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The Lumberjax came out on top against the Braves by a score of 50-41. Winning may never get old, but the Lumberjax sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Wright City to victory, but perhaps none more so than Peyton Miller, who shot 45% from the field to rack up 16 points and four steals. Miller has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 13 times she's played. Kambri Moore was another key player, putting up 13 points and five boards.

Wright City's record is now 8-4. As for Smithville, they moved to 8-3 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Wright City will challenge Haworth at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Smithville, they will venture away from home to challenge Whitesboro at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bulldogs' defense has only allowed 29.3 points per game this season, so the Braves' offense will have their work cut out for them.
