Baseball Preview: Polytechnic Panthers vs. Palm Springs Indians
The Polytechnic Panthers will be taking part in a tournament against the Palm Springs Indians at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Palm Springs took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Polytechnic, who comes in off a win.
Polytechnic had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They had just enough and edged out de Toledo 9-8.
Alejandro KohnRabassa was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Alex Chui, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.
Meanwhile, Palm Springs unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They lost 18-3 to Jurupa Hills on Tuesday. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it four in a row.
Palm Springs saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gio Wood, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.
