The Wahoo Warriors will challenge the Milford Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Wahoo is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took their contest on Friday with ease, bagging a 69-24 win over Concordia. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Warriors' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska football rankings (they are ranked fourth, while the Mustangs are ranked 82nd).
Kip Brigham produced another solid effort rushing for 213 yards and four scores on only 11 carries. His longest rush was for an impressive 60 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Jase Kaminski was another key player, rushing for 36 yards and one TD.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Wahoo was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 371 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in September of 2024.
Special teams also deserves some recognition, posting 22 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Brigham, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Milford got the win against Adams Central on Friday by a conclusive 27-7.
Milford found their leader in sophomore Zane Wittstruck, who rushed for 247 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Those 247 rushing yards set a new season-high mark for Wittstruck. Another player making a difference was Landon Roth, who threw for 182 yards and a pair of TDs.
Wahoo's record now sits at 9-0. As for Milford, their record is now 6-3.
Friday's game might be decided on the ground. Wahoo has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 311.7 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Milford struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 172.2 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Wahoo and Milford were neck-and-neck in their previous matchup back in September of 2021, but Wahoo came up empty-handed after a 28-27 defeat. Can the Warriors avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
