Basketball Recap: Harvard Ellis Tech Comes Up Short

Harvard Ellis Tech was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were beaten by the Cheney Tech Chargers 95-39. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Connecticut basketball rankings (they are ranked 157th, while the Chargers are ranked 49th).

When it comes to explaining why Harvard Ellis Tech lost, don't look at Aaron Gilfoy. Despite the final result, he posted 17 points.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Cheney Tech to victory, but perhaps none more so than Wesley Brown, who scored 19 points. The dominant performance gave Brown a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Isaiah Williams, who put up 15 points.

Harvard Ellis Tech's defeat dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Cheney Tech, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season.

Harvard Ellis Tech didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 63-62 victory against Lyman Memorial on the 13th. As for Cheney Tech, they have also already played their next game, a 69-42 loss against New London on the 15th.
