Sheldon is 1-6 against Rodriguez since March of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Sheldon Huskies are taking a road trip to square off against the Rodriguez Mustangs at 4:00 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.
Sheldon made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Leroy Greene Academy, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Sheldon never let Leroy Greene Academy get on the board and left with an 11-0 win on Wednesday. The result was nothing new for the Huskies, who have now won three games by 11 runs or more so far this season.

Javier Avalos made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 14 over five innings pitched. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in strikeouts. He was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-3. Sheldon is undefeated when Avalos posts two or more runs, but 0-3 otherwise.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Movari Leggett, who scored three runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-2. David Matanane-Kennedy was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing Three bases.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Rodriguez). They put the hurt on Sacramento with a sharp 27-0 victory on Thursday. The Mustangs have beaten the Dragons the last four times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Dragons has come to flipping the script.
Carson Thompson tossed a big game, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Sean O'Connell was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with six RBI, three runs, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Drew Beasley, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base.
Rodriguez hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sacramento struck out 11 times.
The win got Sheldon back to even at 3-3. As for Rodriguez, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
