Recap: Williamsville Bullets vs. Olympia Spartans
The Williamsville Bullets scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Olympia 81-52 at home. Williamsville has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 22 points or more this season.
Williamsville was led to victory by Brecken Thomas and Brayden Saling. Thomas dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten assists, while Saling went 6 for 12 from beyond the arc en route to 22 points and 4 assists. It was the first time this season that Thomas scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Brody Neuhoff, who scored ten points.
Williamsville's victory was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-5. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.5 points per game. As for Olympia, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-16.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Williamsville will take on the Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Athens will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings (they are ranked 336th, while the Bullets are ranked 158th). As for Olympia, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against the Hornets at 6:30 p.m. on January 27th.
