Baseball Recap: Horizon Has No Trouble Against Irvin

Horizon got themselves on the board against Irvin on Friday, but Irvin never followed suit. Everything went their way against the Irvin Rockets as they made off with an 11-0 win. Considering the Scorpions have won five matchups by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Jakob Mapula, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three doubles, and two runs. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in doubles. George Alba was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-2.

Horizon hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Irvin struck out eight times.

The victory made it two in a row for Horizon and bumps their season record up to 9-5. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 8.5 runs. As for Irvin, they dropped their record down to 3-8-1 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.
