Belleville West was the 2-0 winner over Dunlap when they last played one another back in September of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Maroons took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles on Saturday. The Maroons' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Belleville West's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Molly Duncan, who had 17 assists and four digs, and Mia Leech, who had three digs. Duncan has been hot recently, having posted 13 or more assists the last four times she's played.

Dunlap had a senior duo take command as Tessa Arnott had eight kills, five digs, and three blocks and Caroline Holmes had 12 assists and five digs. The team also got some help courtesy of Sam Matheny, who had six blocks.

Belleville West's loss dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Dunlap, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-3.

Belleville West has already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Alton on the 16th. As for Dunlap, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-1 defeat against Peoria Notre Dame on the 15th.
