Soccer Game Preview: Westlake vs. Lake Travis

Westlake and Lake Travis are an even 4-4-2 against one another since January of 2020, but likely not for long. The Westlake Chaparrals will be playing in front of their home fans against the Lake Travis Cavaliers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Westlake is likely headed into the match with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Bowie on Wednesday. Westlake fell just short of Bowie by a score of 1-0. The Chaparrals have struggled against the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, Lake Travis entered their tilt with Dripping Springs on Tuesday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 5-1 win. The game marked the Cavaliers' most dominant victory of the season so far.

Westlake's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 6-4-2. As for Lake Travis, their win bumped their record up to 6-3.

Westlake skirted past Lake Travis 1-0 in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. Does Westlake have another victory up their sleeve, or will Lake Travis turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
