O'Connor and Pinnacle are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2019, but likely not for long. O'Connor will venture away from home to challenge Pinnacle at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. O'Connor will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

O'Connor took a 13-run loss the last time they faced off against Xavier College Prep, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. O'Connor had just enough and edged out Xavier College Prep 5-4 on Saturday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Rachel Davis spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Charleigh Schuettler was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with six RBI and one triple. Another player making a difference was Raegan Holtorf, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Pinnacle). They put the hurt on Higley with a sharp 24-5 victory on Monday. Considering the Pioneers have won four contests by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Paige Kroening was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Those zero hits allowed gave her a new career-low. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Pinnacle got a massive performance out of Payton Crank, who went a perfect 5-for-5 with one home run, five runs, and six RBI. What's more, Crank posted two doubles, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. Sienna Caro was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs.

Pinnacle was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .571. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Higley only posted a batting average of .250.

O'Connor's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-5. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Pinnacle, they now have a winning record of 6-5-1.

Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Tuesday. O'Connor hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 1.1 home runs per game. However, it's not like Pinnacle struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.9 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.

O'Connor skirted past Pinnacle 7-6 in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Will O'Connor repeat their success, or does Pinnacle has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
