Baseball Recap: Okmulgee Comes Up Short

Okmulgee was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the Henryetta Knights, falling 28-8. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since March 1, 2024, but that streak is no more.

Okmulgee saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brandon Simon, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. The dominant performance also gave Simon a new career-high in RBI (two). Jerome James also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Even though they lost, Okmulgee always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .619. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Okmulgee's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Henryetta, they now have a winning record of 1-0-1.

While Okmulgee had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
