Football Game Preview: Briarcrest Christian Saints vs. Memphis University School Owls + How To Watch

Briarcrest Christian hasn't had much luck against Memphis University School recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Saints will square off against the Owls at 7:00 p.m. Briarcrest Christian will be strutting in after a win while Memphis University School will be coming in after a defeat.

Briarcrest Christian was handed a heart-breaking three-point loss in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Lipscomb Academy on Friday. The Saints put the hurt on the Mustangs with a sharp 34-13 victory. Considering the Saints have won five contests by more than 19 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Briarcrest Christian's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Hudson Tucker, who threw for 229 yards and four TDs while picking up 11.5 yards per attempt, and Jd Donaldson, who gained 138 total yards and three touchdowns. The bulk of those receiving yards came from one huge play: a catch that gained an incredible 76 yards.

Briarcrest Christian didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. Robert Thomas led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by himself. He has been hot recently, having also posted seven or more total tackles the last three times he's played.

Meanwhile, Memphis University School played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 42-14 loss at the hands of Christian Brothers. The Owls were already down big by the end of the third quarter and they stayed that way after failing to score in the fourth.

Although Memphis University School took the loss, they still got scores from Maddox Giel and Tommie Reed.

Briarcrest Christian's win bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Memphis University School, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 6-3.

Briarcrest Christian might still be hurting after the 31-10 loss they got from Memphis University School in their previous meeting back in November of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of the Owls' Gavin Gatere, who rushed for 105 yards and three touchdowns on only five carries.
