Braden Hardin commands the offense for Cougars win

Recap: Lyons-Decatur Northeast Cougars vs. Wisner-Pilger Gators

Even though the Wisner-Pilger Gators scored an imposing 61 points on Tuesday, the Lyons-Decatur Northeast Cougars still came out on top. Lyons-Decatur Northeast skirted past Wisner-Pilger 63-61. The score was all tied up 26-26 at the break, but Lyons-Decatur Northeast was the better team in the second half.

Lyons-Decatur Northeast's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Braden Hardin, who scored 21 points along with five assists and five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hardin has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Brayden Hegge, who almost dropped a double-double on 23 points and nine rebounds.

Lyons-Decatur Northeast has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-11 record this season. As for Wisner-Pilger, their defeat was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-18.

Lyons-Decatur Northeast will take on East Butler on Friday. Hopefully Lyons-Decatur Northeast focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Tuesday. As for Wisner-Pilger, they will be playing at home against Laurel-Concord-Coleridge at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Wisner-Pilger is facing Laurel-Concord-Coleridge at the right time seeing as Laurel-Concord-Coleridge is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
