Softball Game Preview: Sheridan Spartans vs. Yamhill-Carlton Tigers

Sheridan hasn't had much luck against Yamhill-Carlton recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Spartans will be playing at home against the Tigers at 4:30 p.m. Sheridan has given up an average of 16 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Sheridan is headed into Tuesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 15th straight game dating back to last season on Monday. They lost 12-1 to Amity.

Sheridan saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Logen Watkins, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base. Lizzie Paquin also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Meanwhile, Yamhill-Carlton entered their tilt with Amity on Friday with five consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with six. They put the hurt on the Warriors with a sharp 16-1 win. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matchups by nine runs or more this season.

Yamhill-Carlton pushed their record up to 6-5 with the victory, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.1 runs on average this season. As for Sheridan, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-6.
