Softball Recap: Westgate Takes a Loss

Westgate was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 22-8 to the Highland Baptist Christian Bears. If the Tigers were looking for revenge after losing 5-4 to them when the teams met back in March of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Trinitee Lewis and Keely Tucker did some serious damage despite the final result: Lewis scored four runs and stole five bases while going 3-for-3, while Tucker scored two runs and stole seven bases while going 3-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Kylie Bourque, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-2.

Westgate's loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Westgate has already played their next matchup (against Catholic - N.I.), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Highland Baptist Christian also has no score uploaded for their next contest, this one against Centerville.
