Basketball Recap: Hannah Youn's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Parkdale over Flowers

It was a proper cat-fight when Parkdale duked it out with Flowers on Tuesday. The Parkdale Panthers fell 64-51 to the Flowers Jaguars. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 64th, while the Jaguars are ranked 17th).

Parkdale lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Hannah Youn, who made all 6 shots she took to post 15 points. She is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as she's posted one of at least 60% in the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Zenai Ferebee, who went 8-for-12 on her way to 16 points and six rebounds.

Flowers found their leader in sophomore Ava Redmond, who went 13-for-22 to rack up 31 points and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Redmond has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Alana Joy, who posted eight points in addition to ten steals and six assists.

Parkdale's defeat dropped their record down to 15-4. As for Flowers, the win (which was their 12th in a row) raised their record to 17-2.

Parkdale didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 70-15 victory against Suitland on the 20th. As for Flowers, they have also already played their next matchup, a 68-14 win against DuVal on the 20th.
