Basketball Recap: Jordan Moshe Key Part of a Team Effort in Sharks Win

NSU University took a 21-point defeat the last time they faced off against Somerset Academy, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The NSU University Sharks narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Somerset Academy Panthers 67-64. The Sharks have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Panthers, too.

NSU University's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jordan Moshe led the charge by going 9 of 13 on his way to 21 points. Another player making a difference was Xavier Osecola, who went 6 for 10 en route to 16 points and six boards.

Somerset Academy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jayden Alcine, who went 9 of 18 on his way to 24 points and three steals. That's the most points Alcine has posted since back in January of 2024. Christian Smith was another key player, putting up 15 points and eight rebounds.

NSU University's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-6. As for Somerset Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-8.

NSU University will take on Gulliver Prep in a tournament on Wednesday. Gulliver Prep will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something NSU University surely won't give up without a fight. As for Somerset Academy, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 64-56 loss against Central on the 20th.
