Recap: Moffat County Bulldogs vs. Delta Panthers
The Moffat County Bulldogs pushed their score all the way to 60 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 78-60 bruising from Delta. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Moffat County in their matchups with Delta: they've now lost six in a row.
Moffat County's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Evan Beaver, who scored 13 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Beaver has scored all season. Ian Champ hafey was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with eight rebounds.
Tucker Johnson was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 22 points and 16 rebounds for Delta. Another player making a difference was Erik Baier, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds.
Moffat County's loss dropped their record down to 9-12. As for Delta, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-12.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Moffat County will face off against Steamboat Springs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Moffat County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Saturday. As for Delta, they will head out on the road to challenge Coal Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
