Baseball Recap: Cape Henry Collegiate Comes Up Short

Cape Henry Collegiate had taken Atlantic Shores Christian down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Tuesday. The Cape Henry Collegiate Dolphins fell just short of the Atlantic Shores Christian Seahawks by a score of 2-1. That's two games in a row now that the Dolphins have lost by just one run.

Cape Henry Collegiate got a good showing from Baylen Newcomb, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Furthermore, Newcomb didn't allow a single earned run, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024.

Cape Henry Collegiate now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Atlantic Shores Christian, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-0.

Coming up, Cape Henry Collegiate will head out to square off against Trinity Episcopal at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Atlantic Shores Christian, they will host Hampton Roads Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
