Softball Recap: Anaconda Copperheads vs. Three Forks Wolves

Anaconda couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They fell victim to a rough 27-8 defeat at the hands of the Three Forks Wolves on Tuesday.

For Three Forks' part, AdaRae Thomas made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits (and only one walk). Thomas was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in five of her six plate appearances with four RBI, a stolen base, and a run.

In other batting news, Three Forks got a massive performance out of Maycee Church, who scored five runs and stole three bases while getting on base in all six of her plate appearances. Church is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's stolen at least one every time she's taken the field this season. As for Three Forks, they will square off against Thompson Falls at 2:00 p.m. on Friday.
