Basketball Recap: Maple Mountain Triumphs

It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Maple Mountain ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Riverton Silverwolves 62-59. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Golden Eagles have posted since November 19th.

Despite the loss, Riverton still got an impressive performance from Blake Robbins, who went 9 of 12 en route to 21 points. What's more, Robbins also racked up two blocks, the most he's had since back in December of 2023. Another player making a difference was Ryker Kerekes, who posted 11 points and seven rebounds.

Maple Mountain's win bumped their record up to 4-7. As for Riverton, their loss dropped their record down to 3-5.

Maple Mountain and Hunter will round out the year against one another at at 5:45 p.m. on December 30th. Maple Mountain is facing Hunter at the right time seeing as Hunter is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Riverton, they will take on Crimson Cliffs in a tournament on December 28th.
