Basketball Game Preview: Jordan Panthers vs. Long Beach Poly Jackrabbits

Jordan is 2-8 against Long Beach Poly since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Jordan Panthers will take on the Long Beach Poly Jackrabbits at 7:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

It was a proper cat-fight when Jordan challenged Cabrillo on Wednesday. In a tight match that could have gone either way, Jordan made off with a 63-62 win over Cabrillo. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Panthers.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Long Beach Poly). They took their contest on Wednesday with ease, bagging a 112-54 victory over Compton. The win was nothing new for the Jackrabbits as they're now sitting on ten straight.

Long Beach Poly is also on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 games, which provided a nice bump to their 19-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.9 points per game. As for Jordan, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-12.

Jordan was dealt a bruising 92-50 defeat at the hands of Long Beach Poly in their previous meeting on January 13th. Can Jordan avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
